We are excited to announce that the United Way of Greater Portland has selected Greater Portland Health as one of a total 48 organizations in the greater Portland area to receive funding for 2019. This investment will go toward increasing behavioral and mental health services at our School-based Health Centers (SBHCs).

Greater Portland Health has SBHCs in four Portland schools: Portland High School, Deering High School, Casco Bay High School PATHS, and King Middle School. Located within schools, SBHCs are easily accessible to students and allow for easy coordination, referrals, and scheduling with the school nurses. In addition to primary medical and dental health services, SBHCs provide behavioral and mental health services which have become increasingly important for students’ health and success.

With the support from the United Way, GPH will be able to increase the behavioral and mental health services offered at our SBHCs and better serve students who utilize our services. We are very grateful to the United Way for their support. If you would like to learn more about the United Way of Greater Portland investments and the Thrive2027 campaign visit their website here.
