Renee Fay-Leblanc, MD, Chief Medical Officer

A board-certified physician, Renee attended medical school at the University of Vermont and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at New York University. She is excited to provide vital services to the community in Portland, where she was born and raised.

Shuli Bonham, MD, Ryan White Clinical Director

Shuli earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Biology from Oberlin College in Ohio. She is a member of the Physicians for Human Rights – Asylum Support Network. Shuli was also recognized by the CDC and the New England Tuberculosis Consortium with their TB Hero Award.

Jean Bugbee, PNP

A board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Jean earned her nursing degree from the University of Vermont and her master’s degree in Pediatric Primary Care Nursing from Boston University. She has experience at practices here and in New Hampshire, as well as volunteering in Honduras and Haiti.

Marianne Donahue, LCSW

Marianne earned her degree in social work from Boston University, and has over 25 years of experience helping individuals gain insight and learn skills to improve their emotional well being. She has a special interest and training in trauma, grief, mental health, and substance abuse.

John Fitzsimons, DMD, Dental Director

John earned his DMD at Boston University in 2011 and then completed a general practice residency at Penobscot Healthcare in Bangor.  Following residency, Dr. Fitzsimons served six years at a federally qualified health center in Portsmouth, NH.  He is excited to return to Maine and is looking forward to expanding the scope of services provided in the dental component of this integrated mission. Dr. Fitzsimons is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Maine Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Elizabeth Frutiger, MD

A board-certified family physician, Elizabeth received her MD from the University of Massachusetts and completed training at Boston University Medical Center. She feels privileged to share in her patients’ efforts to live well, from birth to end-of-life.

Catherine Gaynor, FNP, Clinical Director of Public Housing

Catherine received her master’s in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. She integrates a holistic approach into her care for patients of all ages, with a focus on women’s health, and feels privileged to be a part of each patient’s journey toward a balanced, healthy life.

Alison Gorman, MD

A board-certified family physician, Alison earned her MD at Albany (NY) Medical College and completed her training in Los Angeles. She cares for patients from birth to end-of-life, and provides chronic disease management and adolescent health.

Joanna Kass, Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Joanna was born and raised in Maine and cherishes the local community. She completed undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology at Bowdoin College and obtained her advanced practice nursing degree at the University of Southern Maine. She provides psychiatric care for school-aged children, adolescents, and adults.

Diana Lapp, MD, Clinical Director at 180 Park Avenue

A board-certified family physician, Diana attended medical school at Howard University and completed her residency training in Oak Park, Illinois. Diana provides clinical leadership at the 180 Park Avenue health center.  She is excited to join the team and provide care from birth to end-of-life.

Lori Nicholas, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Lori worked with the homeless for many years before graduating from the University of Southern Maine. She offers psychiatric specialty care for children and adults.

Dan O'Brien, Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

A board-certified nurse practitioner, Dan received his Master’s in Science at the University of Southern Maine. He is excited to be serving the diverse needs of the community. Dan provides psychiatric care for adolescents and adults.

Gita Rao, MD, Clinical Director of School Based Health Centers

The Clinical Director of School Based Health Centers, Gita earned her MD at Boston University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric training at Boston Children’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals. In addition to her medical experience, she organizes broader family wellness programs.

Heather Roberts, LCSW/LADC

Heather is a licensed clinical social worker who has specialized in substance use disorders for the past ten years. She has always had a passion for helping others and being able to aid in the process of change for those reaching out for support. Heather believes there is a strong correlation between substance use disorders and mental health and uses a variety of counseling techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address these concerns.

Jennifer Rogers, NP-C, AAHIVS

A board-certified family nurse practitioner and HIV specialist, Jennifer Rogers received her Master’s in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. She works collaboratively with the medical team at Greater Portland Health and provides specialty care for people living with HIV, viral hepatitis, and latent TB infections.

Kira Sawyer, LCSW

Kira earned her master’s in social work from the University of Texas at Austin. Using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and mindfulness, she helps people from diverse backgrounds draw on their strengths and values to learn practical skills, make lasting changes, and lead fulfilling lives.

Erin Schwarz, DO

Dr. Schwarz chose to work at Greater Portland Health to continue her commitment to working with communities who have barriers to accessing care. She is particularly interested providing culturally sensitive and appropriate psychiatric care to our local immigrant, refugee, and asylee populations. Erin received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Oregon Health & Science University.

Gretchen Speed, Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner

Gretchen received her master’s in nursing from Northeastern University in Boston. She enjoys her work optimizing health and wellness for a diverse population.

Andrea Truncali, MD, MPH

Andrea is a board-certified physician in both internal and addiction medicine.  She completed medical school and residency at New York University, and further training in preventive medicine and public health through Columbia University-Mailman School of Public Health and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.  In pursuit of improving health and well-being for under-served populations, Andrea works in both specialty substance use as well as primary care settings, teaching and delivering care.  In her role at Greater Portland Health, she enjoys the opportunity to provide care to all adult patients.

Megan Waterman, MD MPH

A board-certified family physician, Megan received her MD and MPH degrees from Boston University and completed her residency and academic fellowship training at UIC in Chicago, IL. She cares for patients of all ages, and particularly enjoys substance abuse treatment (including medication-assisted treatment), chronic disease management, and women's reproductive health (including procedures such as contraceptive device placement and colposcopy).​

Jennie is a native Mainer who earned her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She has worked with and alongside people facing oppression and injustice in Chicago, New York City, and Oakland, California. At the heart of her work is an unshakable belief in the intrinsic worth of every human being.

Gladys Estrada, MD, Clinical Director

Gladys provides the clinical leadership and oversight at our South Portland primary care practice. She comes to Maine from Chicago where she completed her residency and fellowship after earning her BA from Harvard and MD from Georgetown Medical School. She speaks fluent Spanish and has a passion for family medicine, with a particular interest in women's health.

Lindsay Tremblay, MS, NP

Lindsay received an MS in Nursing with a concentration as Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University. Her recent professional experience includes working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Sacopee Valley Health Center. Here, her role included working in Primary care as well as Urgent Care assisting walk-in patients with acute concerns. She feels privileged to be working at Greater Portland Health in Primary Care for all ages from birth to end of life.

Kevin Sullivan, MD, Bayside Clinical Director 

Kevin earned his MD from Emory University in Atlanta, and completed his Internal Medicine training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has a passion for bringing clinical care to those who most often fall through the cracks, and meeting patients wherever they are physically, emotionally, or situationally. When confined to four walls he sees patients at 63 Preble St—the Health Care for the Homeless clinic.

Her experience includes work with adults and families, with a focus on trauma, reentry from incarceration, and survivor services. Molly is excited to be providing mental health services within a community clinic.

Courtney Pladsen, FNP

After receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Boston College, Courtney worked as an ER Nurse for five years, went on to get a graduate degree from Georgetown University, and became a Nurse Practitioner (NP). In 2018, she was awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health Leaders Fellowship, where over the next three years she will continue to develop programs that promote health equity specifically for people who are experiencing homelessness. She currently provides medical, mental health, and substance use treatment to people who are experiencing homelessness at the 63 Preble St clinic as well as medical outreach to people who were formally homeless in the Housing First Locations across the city of Portland.
