To our community: we see you, we are listening, and we are here for you.

This past week, our country has endured pain related to the killing of George Floyd. We cannot abide racism. We cannot abide the damage and illness and suffering it creates. GPH has a zero tolerance policy for racism.

We offer a safe and welcoming environment for all who are seeking medical, behavioral, or other health care support or treatment, including immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, people of color, people experiencing homelessness, and anyone experiencing life challenges that might be addressed through health and wellness channels.

We are proud to be part of an organization with a strong and meaningful mission and vision that reflect our GPH core values:

  • Mission: “To provide high quality patient-centered healthcare that is accessible, affordable, and culturally sensitive.”
  • Vision: “Our vision is a healthy community in which everyone has access to integrated, culturally inclusive, affordable, and high-quality health care services promoting physical and emotional wellness.”

As healthcare providers, we are here to offer care, support and healing.  We are here for our patients to address physical and/or emotional conditions that may impact well-being. We stand with our patients in any pain that arises from untreated centuries of disenfranchisement and toxic, systematic racism.

During these turbulent and trying times, particularly as we are confronted with heightened threats to personal safety and security, racial prejudice laid bare by the news of recent killings, and health and economic disparities exposed by COVID-19, Greater Portland Health is here for you, should you seek supportive resources and a safe haven for your physical, emotional and mental health needs.

Please call us at 207-874-2141 to be connected to our services.

In solidarity,

Ann Tucker, CEO
